JMI Equity Recognized Among GrowthCap’s Top Private Equity Firms of 2026
We are excited to announce that JMI Equity has been named to GrowthCap’s Top Private Equity Firms of 2026 for the fifth consecutive year.
The past year has tested the private equity industry in new ways, with more discerning capital, less predictable exit timing, and increased scrutiny from buyers — all while artificial intelligence reshapes how companies operate and what makes them valuable. Against that backdrop, GrowthCap’s selection process looked beyond financial performance to identify firms acting as genuine partners to their portfolio companies: bringing strong leadership, deep sector expertise, and the discipline to help build better businesses rather than wait for the market to create value on its own.
GrowthCap’s evaluation drew on conversations with investors, founders, and CEOs throughout the year, along with nomination materials, direct firm communications, and proprietary research. As GrowthCap put it, this year’s honorees are “true partners to their portfolio companies.”
JMI Equity has established itself as a leading growth equity firm by focusing on partnering with high-growth, high-quality software and AI-driven companies. For more than three decades, the firm has collaborated with founders and management teams to scale their businesses, strengthen competitive positions, and drive growth.
This recognition underscores JMI’s continued dedication to supporting its portfolio companies, as well as the firm’s role as a trusted partner within the private equity ecosystem.

Disclaimer: This award reflects the opinion of the party conferring the award and should not be considered an endorsement of JMI Equity. Issued by GrowthCap, LLC (“GrowthCap”) in August 2026, the Top Private Equity Firms of 2026 award was based on GrowthCap’s evaluation of private equity firms based on how well they have performed in helping companies build value by improving strategy and operations, as well as firm growth and evolution over time, team composition, and other factors, including nomination submissions by JMI Equity. GrowthCap assessed firms using nomination materials, direct firm communications, online submissions, proprietary research, and feedback from portfolio company CEOs, industry peers, and other private capital professionals. After the results were determined, JMI Equity accepted the award and paid a production fee for publication of the award and recognition of JMI Equity, as well as inclusion in GrowthCap’s annual publication and other related editorial and marketing materials. Receipt of such compensation likely presents a potential conflict of interest, and other providers or surveys may reach different conclusions.
