GrowthCap’s 2022 Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors Features Multiple JMI Equity Professionals

JMI Equity, a growth equity firm focused on investing in leading software companies, is proud that multiple JMI investment professionals have been recognized by GrowthCap as among the 2022 GrowthCap Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors List. GrowthCap, a leading growth capital research and advisory firm, compiles its annual list based on nominations from market participants and a methodical review of each nominated investor’s deal experience, background, and career trajectory, as well as the reputation and track record of the nominee’s firm. In addition to the formal nominations process, GrowthCap took into consideration third party feedback from CEOs and other executives. Larry Contrella joined JMI in 2010 and focuses on investments in B2B software businesses. He is a General Partner and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities as well as providing strategic and operational support to portfolio companies. Larry is currently a Board Director of Bloomerang, ChurnZero, Higher Logic, Incident IQ, RainFocus, and Raptor Technologies. He is also involved in the Firm’s investments in Benevity and Level Access. His experience includes several other notable investments, such as automotiveMastermind (acquired by IHS Markit), DoubleVerify (acquired by Providence Equity Partners), and Schoology (acquired by PowerSchool).

Suken Vakil joined JMI In 2012 and has been investing in and helping build leading software companies for over a decade. He is a General Partner at JMI Equity, focusing on software businesses. He is currently a Board Director of ButterflyMX, HackerRank, Huntress, Lytics, and SOCi, and Whistic and a Board Observer at Code42 and Seismic Software. His investment experience includes prior investments in Adaptive Insights (Acquired by Workday (NASDAQ: WDAY), Arena (Acquired by PTC, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTC), Avecto (Acquired by Bomgar), and Internet Brands (Acquired by KKR). As a General Partner of JMI Equity, Suken leads both minority and majority investments in enterprise software companies. He collaborates with management teams to define and achieve market-leading growth strategies.
